EAP visit to Gaza

A delegation from Educational Aid for Palestinains(EAP) headed by Dr Munir Ashi, the headboard of trustees visited Gaza on the 9th March 2009 to obtain a view of the education circumstances after the war in Gaza.

The delegation were astonished by the damages caused to the buildings of the schools and universities especially Al-Fakura school and the Islamic University of Gaza.

Despite such findings they felt that the students had a strong will and determination to continue their education more than ever before in an attempt to serve their community in the future. However, the head of the delegation, Dr Munir said ‘The situation in Gaza is extremely disheartening and critical.’
The delegation presented a donation to the Islamic University of Gaza by way of a cheque for £120,000 in order to rebuild with IT and Science laboratories.
Dr Kamaleen Shaath, the president of IUG thanks the donors from the United Kingdom for all their generous contributions and ask to continue their support towards to this well worthy cause.

The delegation presented a further cheque for £50,000 to various educational institutions to assist towards tuition fees for students and towards needy and orphanage children.
