Warm greetings to you from the Holy Land of Palestine, the blessed land of Al-Aqsa Mosque from where our prophet Muhammad (PBUH) ascended to the Heavens, Assalaamu Alaikum Warahmatullah.
Sixty years have passed since the Catastrophe (Al-Nakba) and the Palestinian people continue to suffer various forms of deprivation to their fundamental basic rights, including the right to a dignified and secure life.
86% of Palestinians living under occupation live below the poverty line; entire families do not find provisions to feed their children or to provide appropriate education for them. Most painful images are seen in the Gaza Strip where civilians live under the stifling blockade and are deprived from energy, medicine and food. People have adapted to very rudimentary means in order to survive, sun heat is being used as the only source of energy available for mothers to cook a meal for their children, whilst vehicles are driven by the use of cooking oil since Israel has stopped supplying Gaza with fuel. Most effected are students who depend on the light of candles to read at night.
To Alleviate some of their suffering during this blessed month we invite you to support our Project designed to sponsor families with children in education at £100 per month, or our Project to sponsor the poor and orphan children at £21 per month. Or may be you would consider contributing to our scheme in which breakfast meals are offered to students at universities, at a cost of £2 per meal.
